One of her favorite books right now is Snow White. We read it to her every night so she now remembers all the dwarfs' names. Here's the proof:)

One Wednesday Morning....
It was just our typical day. Nathan just ate, he's now in his swing sleeping. Erika and I were in her room playing and having a lot of fun. I was reading Snow White to her .She was playing in the bead curtain hanging on her door while all of a sudden she decided to shut the door. I didn't make a big deal out of it cause we were both inside so I kept reading. Then after almost 20 minutes, I thought I'd check on Nathan and see if he's ok. I got up went to her door only to find out it was locked. When we first moved in, all the keys in this house had key locks but we had no keys so in order to prevent Erika from locking her self in we turned the knob on her door around. Ordinarily that would have been fine except today, when we were both inside the room. Great! Now what do I do, I thought to myself. I wasn't panicking because I knew that Nathan was sleeping. The only problem was how long would it take before I could figure how to get us out of the room and how long would Nathan be asleep. So after almost twenty minutes of trying everything, even trying to just take the whole door knob out, I was starting to panic cause I was unsuccessful. I finally decided to jump out the window and went to my neighbor for help. After another 20 minutes of trying different things, another neighbor was able to open our storm door. Luckily the front door was open. And they let us out. Would you believe it? Nathan was asleep through the whole thing! Thank goodness!
Ahhh, the joys of motherhood....

For the Sake of Dora
I have been having a hard couple of days with Nathan waking up every 3 hours at night. Last night was the hardest cause Jon has school, so needless to say I wanted to sleep in soo bad. So 4:45 this morning, Jon left for work, 5:00 AM Nathan woke up to eat, 5:30 I was back in bed, 6:30AM there was Erika banging on her door and yelling MOMMY (in a very sweet way mind yah) and wanted to get out. So I took her and put her in my bed and tried to go back to sleep. I THOUGHT Erika was falling asleep cause she didn't even try to get up when I put her down. 7:55 I opened my eyes and Erika was not in my room. So I looked in her room, living room, bathroom, kitchen but I couldn't find her. I happened to look at the gate and saw that it was open. I thought to myself that she wouldnt go there because it was dark. But I went and check anyway. Guess what? Erika was in front of the TV. When she saw me she had a big smile on her face and said, Hi Mommy, Dora?
What a brave little girl! She went downstairs in the dark to turn the tv on. She'll do anything to watch her favorite show... Dora the explorer...

Bye Bye Binkie!
Yep, you read that right! NO MORE PACIFIERS!!! You have no idea how glad I was when this happened. It's been almost three weeks now that Erika stopped using her paci's. It was not intentional actually, I know we will have to deal with this sooner or later but it was just funny how it happened. So I was at a girl's night two tuesdays ago and Jon was with the kids. I came home and asked him how they did. And he said they went down fine. Erika cried for 15 minutes but after that she was quiet. And I said, "So you found the pacifier then"? (We only let Erika use it at bedtime and I hide it during the day) And he said, "Oh I forgot to give it to her!" And there was a big smile on my face. And the first thing I thought was, THIS IS IT! If she didnt have the paci and she only cried for 15 minutes then I can stop giving it to her. So, I didnt give it to her for her nap the next day and she was miserable. She was banging on her door and wouldnt go to bed. So I let her out of her room but didnt give the paci. Same thing happened that night, no paci, and more crying. The next day no paci and VOILA she slept fine. Didnt even ask about it. I dreaded the day when we have to take the paci from her that's why I was sooo thrilled when this happened.
